never see/heard that player. I have a dvd2800 feeding a samsung digital "27 HDTV monitor and am amazed at the picture with good dvds, and the cd sound is not bad at all. I think the ultimate steal is the dvd2900 its got a better video chip, and dvda/sacd which the 2800 does not have. got mine used for 530 and the 2900 is in stores for like 900-1000.
