Need Advice - Good 1 Brand Home Theatre System for In-Laws

You advice is appreciated. My inlaws are in England and I am looking for a good 1 brand (or at most 2) home theatre system. I have already looked at the Acoustic Energy Aego 5 ($1,000 plus DCD player) and the Linn Classik ($2k+ speakers). I would like to spend less than the Linn, $1.5k would be great. Am looking for a good price for a used Linn, if there are any Brits vieweing this who want to sell one.
Any other recommendations that I should be seeking out to listen and look at? The in-laws are not techno at all, so the concept of simplicity is a high value.
