Also in a similar situation. Using a Sony TAP preamp/ICBM and the internal DD/DTS decoding of my DVD/SACD player for movies.
I am getting ready for a major video upgrade, (in relationship to what I have now) adding a Hi-Def DSS/STB to feed a new Hitachi 57 Hi-Def RPTV, via DVI cable, as soon as the new 2003 models hit the CC/Sears floor.
Since I will need another DD/DTS decoder for the STB, for right now, thinking about trying one of those $170 Pro media DD 5.1 units to hold me over until the next big upgrade.
