Norcent vs Momitsu in 1080i mode

64.53.217.4

I have been looking into obtaining a Norcent DP-501M (copy of the Liteon 2001 from what I have read) Dvd player or a Momitsu V880 player to use the 1080i scaling mode for the most part. My television does not have a DVI input so these are the only players I have found that have this resolution thru the component output.

My question do both these players put out that resolution on store bought discs or do they only work with (ripped and burned copies) like I have read from some sources? Something to do with the macrovision I think?

How glitchy are these players I have heard It can be hit or miss on the quality of the unit you get?

My television is a tube type so would some other technology work out better and should I look at another player. These players lack of company support worry me if I should have a problem with them.

Also how does the audio section of these players perform I'm not expecting too much considering the $200 price range they are around. These players would be replacing a NAD Dvd player which has excellent audio and rather poor video performance (freezes all the time and locks up on occasion)

Thanks
