S-video or composite

Here's how I interpreted your last comment:

#1 The DVD player via component cables to the receiver's component inputs (the one you normally use with the DVD player and the ones you previously used for the game systems) will work to the display.

#2 Both video game systems via component cables connected directly to the display's component input will work.

Is this correct?

If so, recheck that all of the component cables that connect the sources to the receiver are correct: Y to Y, Pb to Pb and Pr to Pr.

Correct connections and still not working? Run one of the video game systems to the receiver via an S-video or composite path and also from the receiver to the display via an S-video or composite path and see if that allows the setup to work properly. If it does, you have Poltergeists.
:-)

It's easy to overlook the obvious or not see what's wrong when it's right there in front of you in many audio/video setups. I once spent over 30 minutes trying to get a simple VCR directly to display via composite connection to work. As many times as I looked at the inputs and outputs, I I didn't see that I had hooked the VCR's output to the display's Video 3 Monitor Out, instead of the display's Video 3 Video In. The connections were right next to each other, so it was an easy mistake to make. Still, I felt like an idiot for not realizing this 30 minutes earlier. It may help if you can get someone else (preferably someone that won't laugh at you) to verify that the connections and settings are correct. But even if they laugh at you, it'll be worth it if they catch the error.
