need info before i sheetrock/ on what is needed for a projector screen

electrician said i can buy a ready made screen for 1700.00 that resides in a soffit like pocket and it can power down as needed
i can't afford the screen now but don't want to cut sheetrock later if i can avoid it.
am i being misinformed ?
any info would help.
