Pinging GranpaBobby: VSL (Vertical Slope) vs. VA (Vertical Amplitude?)

I finally got the Data Sheet for the service menu on my Samsung TV. It was surprising to see how many of the parameters were set to different values than the initial or recommended ones (and *not* because of any fiddling on my part!)

I do have one question: What is the difference between Vertical Slope and Vertical Amplitude? Both of these parameters appear to stretch the image vertically... the values on the data sheet suggested that VA should always be set to 20, but that VSL could be adjusted within a certain range.

Any help (from GranpaBobby or anyone else who knows!) would be greatly appreciated.
