How to turn of VSM on Sharp TV

Hi! I've been lurking on the vintage audio site for months but now need some video help.I have a Sharp 27U-F510 flat screen tv and would very much like to disable the VMS (velocity modulation scan). I contacted Sharp and they referred me to their local service centers. I called all three of them and they are clueless ("vm what?"). From what I have gleaned off the web the VMS should be quite easy to disengage either through the service mode or by physically pulling the supply connector to the vms panel.

Thanks in advance.

from the web:

Some people will simply advise turning the contrast down. At low beam current
the spot size will be acceptably small and SVM is not needed. In most, if not
all, cases they will disable the SVM circuit, usually by pulling the supply
connector to the SVM panel. That panel is often fixed to the neck of the
picture tube, behind the video amplifier panel.
