Will your future HDTV have a digital input? Most probably it will, so it might be a good idea to get a DVD player with either a DVI or an HDMI output. This way, the digital video from the DVD will stay digital throughout the processing in the display for a better picture.Here are some options that are close to your $300 goal: Bravo D2 and D3, Samsung HD841 and HD941, Panasonic S97 and Momitsu V880.
