CATV interference?

I am trying to troubleshoot an annoying interference I have been getting on my CATV for some time now. I have digital/HD service.

It looks like a faint diagonal herringbone type pattern most noticeable with darker pictures and only on some channels. I can see it on any of the TV's in the house although more easy to see on some.

The CATV is grounded at the entry pont to the house then goes to a splitter/amplifier and distributed to all the rooms in the house. I will need to go to the attic to get more info about that unit but it was cable company supplied.

I have tried some inline isolation transformers thinking maybe it was ground loop problem but this had no effect. Any ideas? I am thinking maybe either RF interference, too much amplification or both?

Thanks for your help!

Mark
