No DVD-A multi-channel, but DTS/Dolby Digital will fit.

5/6 channels of uncompressed PCM will not "fit" on the TOSlink/coax digital output. Besides, the studios want a secure connection.

If you have a 1394/firewire/i.link port, you can transfer the 5/6 channels of DVD-A to a processor/receiver with same (there are some exceptions, IE: proprietary encryption methods in some cases). The new HDMI spec for multi-channel digital audio will also allow for the transfer of DVD-A uncompressed to a processor/receiver with same. But still, security is the main concern -- far above quality and convenience.
