Noise with S video

I just bought an Infocus X1 and I'm very happy with the performance even with projecting on the wall for now. I've got a few newbie questions:
With the S video cord that came with the projector I'm getting some nasty hum induced in my tube audio gear. I'm not familar with video so I need some guidance. What's the cause and general remedy for this?
Also, any recommendations between the Da-Lite high contrast matte (1.1) and the Video Spectra (1.5).
Lastly, I need to buy 25' runs of good S video, component video and standard RCA runs. I could make up myself but I'm too lazy right now. And I'm not interested in high dollar silver ;-).
