How about...

...an inexpensive DD/dts receiver (with pre-outs) and a nice 5 channel amp? This way you get all the decoding options and some quality power for your speakers.

I suggest this because I feel most receivers (even in the $2K range) have less than optimal amplification. Or if you want a strict pre/pro and amp set up, check this out from Audio Advisor (actually a very good deal):
