Re: Denon DP-30L Turntable

If you want to upgrade anything, upgrade the speakers...buy a new cartridge....That turntable is not strictly a high end table..even the dp-47f (big old rosewood boat-anchor, used to have one) was no match for the UK tables (ie: linn, rega) The 30 is a fine tt, however. Denon made some of the best inexpensive tables of that era. The B&O's were great 'cheap' tables as well. If you bought a new music hall or rega p3 you'd get better sound...but the Denon is NOT the weak link in your system. Those DCM's are much more dated. What kind ot speaker wire do you have? You'd be surprised what a difference that makes. Analysis plus makes great wire, copper 9 spades would set you back a couple hundred used, maybe 450 for bi-wire. Good cartidges... Need to stay MC? Blue point special Dynavector 10x4 (both around $350}....depends on your budget.I see the needle doctor still sells that dp-47fgreat web site, enjoy!
