The only sound I get when the DVD player tries to play a disc is a crackling sound.
The TV has 1, 2 and 3. I have tried connecting the player using the s-video cable and the yellow video cable.
Selectable inputs on TV menu are: VIDEO 1, DTV, RECEIVER, WEB, DVD, SAT, GAME, LD, BETA, 8mm and VHS. The TV is on channel 4 for the digital cable box...does it need to be changed for the DVD player?
