Agree the Pronto is great but not needed for this purpose

I went close to getting a Q50 late last year but backed out when it was so slow coming. However the dealer assured me it could be multi-zoned using its own remote. I guess it should not be too difficult to find out the codes. Try one of the other forums like AVS for help if no one here can.

Back to the Pronto. I agree with cfraser it is a great unit to have but I would not buy one just for a DVD player. The purpose of the PRONTO is to replace the armload we accumulate from VCR's, preamps, receivers etc. Our PRONTO here replaces 10 remotes and, using macros, will coordinate action from several.
e.g. turn on the DVD player, set the video enhancer to the correct setting, the DSP to the appropriate setting and be ready for action.
We have a bit of a nightmare complex set up here and my wife can, with one of the "Start" buttons I've programmed, set it all in motion using that one action.
Caveat, it did take me some time to drop to how easy these macros are to set up. As with a lot of this sort of stuff the manuals are written by computer geeks who are not good at communicating & assume everyone else is as intelligent as themselves. My saviour was the PRONTO users board accessed at http://www.prontoedit.com/
