Help, humming problem

152.166.70.52

Hi, there. I have a problem with humming. I am not even sure if
humming is the right term to describe the problem.
It is very soft low frequency constant noise from the mid-woofer.
It seems to be there all the time. The noise is there regardless
if I am playing my CD or TV or ...

Here is the longer story. I just brought the Arcam Alpha AV50.
I hooked up VCR, LD, DVD, CD, Tuner, and TV to it. It seems to
be working fine. I originally have an Arcam Delta 290. So, I
thought I will try 'passive' bi-amping. I connect the preout
(front) from Arcam Alpha AV50 to power in of Arcam Delta 290.
Disconnect the jumper behind the speaker, AV50 speaker to tweeter,
Delta 290 to mid-woofer. Then the noise. It is definitely from
the mid-woofer.

I took all the cables out except the CD. Noise is gone. I put
the TV AV cable in, noise is back. I put the AV cables to connect
the VCR, noise is back.

So, I am guessing it is humming. And it is due to the interference
between cables to and from AV50.

How do solve the problem?

Thank you very much.
