dual cable/antenna w/vcr

I have 2 incoming lines for my cable. The A trunk and B trunk. Currently I have the A going directly into a Toshiba TV. The B passes through the cable converter box than into the 2nd Ant in on the TV. I was thinking on getting a S-VHS recorder but I'd like to record while the TV is off. The only way I think that this can be done, is to run both of the Cables through the VCR before the TV/Converter box. Is there such a VCR that has dual RF in's and dual out's. Or is there another way.
