REVIEW: Outlaw 750 Amplifier (SS)

After several months of deliberation and auditioning of several other 5 channel amps, I decided to give the Outlaw 750 a try based upon it's price point and other's opinions.
This has been a great purchase for me. I have this unit mated with a Carver HR-875 integrated (soon to be replace) and I am using Krix Apex for the fronts and Energy .5 for rears with an Energy ES-8 powered sub.
When I put this unit in my system. WOW what an improvement. The other amps I listened to (Sherbourne 5/1500, Rotel 985THX, ATI 1505, Nakamichi PA-5) all sounded well during auditions (except for the Sherbourne, all though I have been told that the unit I auditioned may have been faulty). This amps competes with all of the above. And at the price break of $1100 it has definetly the most bang for the buck. I believe it has a better build quality than the NAK which was $800 dollars more. The Rotel which is $100 cheaper just doesn't give near the punch to the music. I have found that the Outlaw outperforms the Rotel in many ways. The ATI is a very good amp and would have been my choice had the Outlaw not been $500 dollars to down side.
I have spent the last week really listening to it with all types of different musical stlyes. I have listened to every thing from Zachary Richard (Zydeco) to Meatloaf to KISS to Craig Chaquico. All styles have exceled above and beyond what my system could previously do. The music and soundstage have really opened up. The detail still remains, however the high frequencies are not nearly as fatiguing. It use to be that that after a few of hours listening I would have to turn of the equipment simply from tiring of listening. NOT NOW!!!! My listening sessions over the weekend were 3 and 4 hours long. I could have continued, but I had the wife factor soo.
I guess the bottom line on this amp is if you are looking to go into seperates and only have $1100 to budget for a 5 channel amp. This should be the one for you. If your budget can afford more than there maybe other amps out there for you. But this can't be beat for its price
