Bob,

There are only a few DVD transports out there (Proceed PMDT for one,
and Theta David another). I am unaware of any less than 2k. My
advice, though, is to wait until the universal DVD format(i.e. DVD-A
DVD-V) is established before making a major purchase. The first
universal players will be out this summer from Toshiba, Panasonic
and I would presume the high-end companies might follow suit with
their transport versions later. The question that begs asking is
do you need a dedicated transport with ultra-high res. 24/192 PCM?
The other problem is that because of copyright concerns the initial
DVDA players will not offer the high-res. bits at a digital output,
only through their 6 analog outs, so dedicated universal transports
may be delayed even longer.
