Help me make a wise RPTV decision

I am in the market for a 61" rear projection TV. I really like the new Sony KP-61HS10, but before I drop $3k, have any of you seen this or its specs? On paper it looks good and in at the Circuit City, the Tarzan demo looked awesome. Compared to any other set I've seen in this price point, I haven't found one that has looked better (it looks better than the 53" XBR model). I am very nervous because of the substancial $$$. HD ready TV's I know very little about. I do know I want a 4:3 at this point. It has a built in converter that takes your 480i and converts is to 480p so there are virtually no scan lines... is this a valuable feature to have in the TV vs. a line doubler or a progressive scan DVD player?
