If these can be done you'll have to order the Sony service manual for your TV to get to them. My guess is that you probably cannot defeat SVM through the service menu (of course I could be wrong) and you need a comb filter regardless. If any of this involves opening up the unit I'd be wary -- many, many volts are cruising through your TV set and it can be a dangerous place for both you and your TV to play around in.

Check out on the web -- there are plenty of Sony fans who are the techie-type who probably can give you more information (and more accurate information) than I.
