If you are planning on adding a monitor for HDTV then do not buy the unit that is not capable of HDtv . Why is the person selling the unit? Maybe to buy the new one? If you are not planning on buying a hdtv capable tv in the next 2 year I would say that 350.00 will not be a waste if you get that much service out of it.
