Small problem while watching Wonder Boys on DVD...

The movie played fine on my Sony DVP-S550D DVD player. However when I went to view the special features, C:13:00 flashed in the lower right corner of my screen and then the screen went from the DVD special features menu to the Sony DVD default screen where it continued to flash. This happened when I selected any of the features. The owner's manual did not address this. Anyone know what might be going on? This has never happened before, I suspect it's the DVD and not my player. Thanks in advance.

BTW, Wonder Boys was excellent, though I suppose this comment should be in the Films asylum...
