Re: Anyone comments on the old Lexicon CP3+?

I have a CP-3 plus. I don't see how the surround channel can be in stereo. The L & R surrounds can be tuned differently as to level, and the CP-3+ does a lot of steering that other processors don't do, but non-digital surround processors get their rear channel information from the difference signal. There is no stereo information in the difference signal. It's merely out of phase information derived by interconnecting the positive sides of the two stereo channels.

At any rate, the CP-3 is a great audio preamp. You'll like it. The only drawback might be if you have real inefficient speakers and like your music real loud. The Lexicon doesn't have that much gain.
