highest quality DVD video and audio

I read with great anticipation the Columbia/TriStar announcement about their SuperBit DVDs. Unfortunately, the "super" in SuperBit only applies to the video -- not the audio. It will feature 5.1 Dolby Digital (384 to 448 kb/s) and DTS (758 kb/s) audio. Dolby (or PCM) has to be on the disc per the DVD specs, so that's a given. But what has happened to full bitrate DTS (1.5 Mb/s)? What a letdown. The difference that full bitrate DTS brings to the table (the first Universal DTS DVDs and the DTS laserdiscs) is clearly audible. Just obviously not clear enough for the "clouded" thinking of C/TS. Maybe the discs should be called "SuperVideoBit" or "kindaSuperBit". Actually, what we really need is the new DTS 24/96 that is coming out in the fall. I don't know if they are planning a 6.1 discrete version, but that really would be the ultimate audio for any home theater showing on DVD! DTS-ES 6.1 Discrete 24/96 -- What do you think?
