I saw the 40" at J&R in New York in August. I would go with the 36"
16:9 sony that has 1080i. Both of these sets were side by side at the store. the 36" blew the 40" away. While it could have been the set, which was done by Sony techs, I doubt it. I think the days of 4"3 are over.
