TV Antenna Question

I live in Orange County half way between the LA and San Diego transmitters. Right now I have my antenna pointed north at LA and get great reception. However, I'm sick of being forced to watch the Raiders, a bay area team, every Sunday when the Chargers are kickin' ass less than a hundred miles south of me.

I'm thinking of putting a second antenna on my mast and point it south to get San Diego stations. I plan to run a separate coax line from the San Diego antenna to the second antenna input on the TV. Will the close proximity of the two antennas interact and screw up each other's reception? Would I be better off mounting the San Diego antenna on its own mast at another roof location? Any other ideas? My TV is analog, so grabbing HDTV isn't an issue at this point.
