Re: marantz dv3100 as transport?

I have been using it for CD's for about 8 months. I can't say that I am an equipment expert but I have good ears. I am very happy with the sound I am getting. It is clear with great range. Twice I had problems with getting the unit to properly read a disk. I put the disc in my computer played it and then put it back in the Marantz. It played fine after that. Perhaps there was dust or something on the CD. I think this will stand up to a stand alone unit. I see no reason to have two units.
