Sony 40XBR700

152.163.207.179

I just got my Sony 40XBR700 delivered over the weekend. It is huge, and very deep (over 26"), so be carefull to be sure you have the room. I was wondering if there would be any video degredation by passing the Y-PB-PR outputs from my progressive scan DVD, and the Y-PB-PR output from my HDTV ready Cable Box (Orlando, FL area has 2 network HD channels and 1 HD Showtime and 1 HD HBO, and TWC just released the HD capable boxes) through the component inputs of my Yamaha AV receiver, then back out to the Y-PB-PR inputs on the TV? Also, I have read that Sony TV's are notorius for needing video calibration. Who do I contact to have this done (certainly Circuit City wont do it, although they sold me the set for $3099, well below retail, and free, quick delivery!). Although I am no videophile, I am overwhelmed with the quality of the picture. In my opinion, you get more picture on the 40 in wide screen mode than you do on the 36" 16:9 Sony, for less money...
