Sony 9000ES DVD Player question...

I'm considering buying a Sony 9000 dvd player, but not to use in the conventional way. First, I was going to exploit it's SACD playability; secondly, I was going to use it for headphones while watching movies. I do not have a receiver or processor that decodes Dolby Digital or DTS. So would I be able to hook the analog outputs
on the back of the 9000 to my headphone amp and enjoy sound that way, and run an analog cable to the back of my TV for the video? I watch movies very rarely, and when I do, I can't enjoy the movie at high volume due to neighbors (live in apt). So I'd use my headphones/headphone amp setup. Since I don't want to buy a dedicated
high-end SACD player, I'd want to save some money and try to kill two bats with one bottle rocket. I just didn't know what the drawbacks would be if I didn't have anything to "decode" the Dolby Digital or DTS.
