I have this problem on my RCA ColorTrak TV.
But it only changes to funky colors if there is something red or orange colored "paused" on the screen for a few minutes.
example would be...on a Playstation 2;if you paused a game for a few minutes, come back and a small spot on the screen is purple/pink

anyway, maybe im just not thinking clearly, but what is an electronic tape eraser ?
