sharpvision crt is same as pioneer

I am looking at rp tv in 50 inch range.was told the sharpvision crt was same as pioneer, was this just sales talk or is it true.He had a shrpvision 53 or 55 reuced to 2500 was thinking of it.what can you tell me about it thanks
