making center speaker

I have an extra pair of surround speakers. Pretty small bookshelf.
I've got them in the pro-logic time (~6 yeasr ago). It's Boston Acoustic, and 8 ohm. I cannot open the front mask, but it feels like it's got one tweeter and one midrange.
Would it be a good idea to run both of them from a single center channel, using 2 speaker wires ? Would I gain any sonic benefit using this setup ? Of couse, assuming my amp can run them safely.
