Re: Panasonic CT-32XF56 or 55 or whatever DTV in that line

Scott, I was looking for a 32" TV as well, the salesman explained that the Panasonic can display SDTV which is 4:3 part of the lower end of the HDTV standard. This TV has a progressive display which sounds great in theory. In practice however I was very disapointed with all the artifacts that are visible on weak TV signals, DVDs with a lot of forest or grass, the picture took on a blocky appearance. The same source on the WEGA 32xbr250 looked much cleaner with a lot more depth, excellent colour and detail. I checked this Panasonic in two other stores same thing, one store had the Panasonic without this feature right next to it for 800.00 less that had a better picture. I ended up with the Sony for 200.00 more. In Canada HDTV seems waaay off in the future, for me DVD and live NTSC broadcast is my only reference.
