DVD output to red book dac?

I am considering selling my Audio Alchemy transport and replacing it with a Pioneer DV 525 DVD player, to be used as a CD transport for audio. I am considering keeping a custom modified A.A. DDS 3.o DAC that I would think should still sound superior over the oem Pioneer dacs.

1st question; Will the AA 3.0 dac work with the 24/96 output from the Pioneer DVD/CD player?
2nd question; If the AA dac will still work, does anyone doubt the AA dac will outperform the lo-fi stock dvd players dac?
