Re: DVD output to red book dac?

I've got the Pioneer DVL 909 (LD/DVD player). You can use your DAC to play CDs and stereo (non DD) movie tracks, but it won't decode a 24/96 data stream, so if you want to play 24/96 audio DVDs you will need to use the onboard DAC of the Pioneer (if it supports 24/96), or get a new DAC that supports 24/96 (Like MSB or Musicsl Fidelity, or Bel Canto). The DAC in my DVL 909 is pretty decent, but probably not up to the DDE 3.0. Still, give it a listen, you may be able to live with it.
