which DVD player is best for enhanced widescreen to 4:3

I'm shopping around for a $300 range DVD player for my 60"
Mitsubishi 4:3 RPTV. I was considering the SD2109, but read that
it was unfavorable for downconverting enhanced widescreen. I've
also read that the DV525 is noisy. Compared to the noise from
pioneer LD players, is it any louder or about the same? Also
could someone please explain the differences in picture formats.
