Dolby via two channel

Is it possible to run some type of Dolby processor/decoder between my DVD player and my 2 channel analog tube preamp? Connect the DVD player to the decoder via a digital cable (s/pdif?) and then run a pair of stereo outs from the decoder to my 2 channel power amp?
If it is possible does anyone have any recomendations on a processor? New or used it doesn't matter.......
