"Stop" on my DVD player

You know the deal. You're tired and cannot stay awake to finish a flick you're watching. Can I press stop on my Denon 2910 and press play the next day, or days later, without doing damage to my player? I wouldn't think this harmful, since the drive stops, but I'm a little insecure. Please, set me free....peace, warren
