Re: Help needed

This may be too late, but I hooked up a voom box for one of my customers (after the voom installer inadvertantly pulled out the green (Y) cable from the DVD player - no picture) and with the exception of the fact that you may have to go into the menu and specify that you want 1080i or 720p, the voom box will output the HD thru a standard component cable set. I don't know why, but I have seen several HD boxes lately come set to 480p. I was at a customers house recently where a Direct TV sat company set up my customers sat receiver (I sold him the HD TV, and HT system) and was suprised to see one of the brand new Hughes 250 GB HD Tivos set to 480p. I asked the customer if the sat installers had changed the screen resolution and he said they had only done the local channel scan and told him it was ready to go. I went in to the menus and found the improper setting. (480p can look pretty good, but this did not and should have been noticed by the installers that it was not in the one of the HD settings, 720p or 1080i) I am afraid to even contemplate how many consumers out there are not watching the HD they think they are!!!!!!!!!
