HDCP Compliance Problems

Need Help! Hooked up a new Scientific Atlanta 8350 DVR HD cable box from Brighthouse to my Sanyo PLV-Z2 HD Projector's DVI port and I am getting a warning that the projector is not HDCP compliant. The projector is, in fact, HDCP compliant. Three Brighthouse techs have been to my house and have no idea how to fix the problem. The Scientific Atlanta uses a HDMI port. I am using a HDMI to DVI adapter to connect to the projector's DVI port. The DVI cable is HDCP compliant. I have used it with a Samsung DVD player which uses a DVI HDCP connection and this works. I have also tried using a Pace HD cable company converter box with DVI port and get the same HDCP Compliance warning! What gives with this HDCP system? Is anyone else out there having this problem? No one seems to have an answer. I have just sent my projector back to Sanyo hoping that maybe they can fix problem, but I'm not so sure the problem is with the projector. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated. I am one frustrated home theater junkie!.
