Sharp XG E-800U ???????

I recently bought a Sharp XG E-800U LCD projector. It came with a case and some wires with connectors I'm really not familiar with. I payed a wopping $2.19 for everything from a Goodwill warehouse. The big suprise was it works. I set it up with an old screen, hooked it up to my cheapo dvd player and connected the audio to my 30+ year old Sansui deluxe eight reciever and four SP-2500 speakers . After hours of Pink Floyd, Rush, Kansas, Yes etc., and even though the picture is not really that great. I'm not able to go back to the 19" screen of my past. Quite a dilema for someone with more children then money.
Anyways, I'm hoping to get some helpful info on this projector. It cuts off the top and bottom of the picture and the picture I'm told could be clearer if I used better cables.
