Without regard to $$---in a 60" go new generation Pioneer or JVC?

Any insights helpful. Will use High Def Direct TV, but most shows will not be broadcast HD.
I prefer my Pioneer rear projection and don't car for any of the new stuff
I guess the Pioneer is Pasma and a new one just released a few weks ago. Then JVC is licos???
