so I decided on a Panasonic 30" HD CRT

It does 480 and 1080, but not 720. Do I really need 720p? Basically, it just doesn't upsample. Do any sources really use 720p? Someone below posted that he regretted having only 720..
I couldn't justify the extra $$ for the Sony XBR. The Samsung HAD to go back for its geometry issues. The Hitatchi and Philips models just didn't look that great to me and I prefer a black frame around the picture.
