Whats the correct size tv for a room 225 sq, feet?

My parents want a new tv for their front room. They will be sitting as close as 8' and as far away as 15'Their eye sight is not good anymore, so i thought a plasma tv would have a sharper picture. I'm thinking perhaps a 40" would be just the right size for them.Any suggestions to brands? I am partial to Toshiba, but am open to other ideas.I think they want HD too. Do plasmas have HD already built in so they don't have to add a receiver? Are plasmas as reliable as other type tvs?Thanks for the suggestions.
