Video via VGA connection

I have several dozen DVDs ripped (uncompressed) to my hard drive. I'm wondering about the quality of a VGA connection between my HTPC and plasma monitor (opinions please). I have it hooked up this way, and everything looks great! I'm wondering about the resolution of VGA versus DVI, HDMI,Svideo, RGB etc. Right now I have a HualHead 450 Matrox video card and am using this. I cant find a card with HDMI output yet. My plasma has a plethora of HDMI, Svideo, RGB, but no DVI inputs. If I were to get a new video card what should I get....Is the current (VGA) set-up really that bad? I'm not planning to use the HTPC for any TV tuning, or TiVO type capabilities. The quality is really pretty good, but I'm new to video, and am looking for opinions/ options! Thanks for your advice in advance! BTW, I'm using a 42" Hewlett Packard plasma, and I love it! Is there such a thing as a video card with HDMI, or RGB (component) outs?
