Is there a theoretical max resolution to fiber optic video?

Lets say for instance the cable companies were capable of and wanted to put out the best posible amount of pixels/lines of resolution and the manufacturers followed suit. This would be strictly cable probably because of limited bandwidth available for RF communications. Im sure there are lots of limiting factors but a well designed system would certainly outshine HDTV (2Megapix).
