hdtv antenna's: need advice

I'm Installing a 30 foot tower for 2 direcectional fm antennas rotatated on top. I want pick up my local hdtv tv stations from same tower with antenna mounted off of the tower but not rotated.. I've seen omnidectional uhf antenna's and vhf antenna precut for a given frequency..
So my question is can I use say 2 omni uhf fixed in different directions and severeal vhf precuts each pointed at my favorite stations? Can this work if proper spacing is maintained?
Also, Is a vhf hdtv antenna different than a regular vhf antenna?
