Thanks Jack,

You appear to be a pretty active member here and have an informative insight as do some others. I originally signed up on AA around 6 or 7 years ago when Hi-rez (SACD/DVD Audio) was really starting to take hold. Now it's another (for all practical purposes) dead format. I'm waiting for HD music and hoping it's a format that sticks. As for the cablecard issue, my carrier is Brighthouse; they've been pretty good, but everyone that I talk with there admits that the cablecards suck, when the tech came out and tried swapping out the card about a 8 mos ago or so the dropouts became worse and as a matter of fact the picture wouldn't even come back on in some cases, I would have to completely reset everything; so I had him bring back my old card and it's been working pretty good other than the occasional DO's. They seem to appear more readily at certain times of the year, most likely due to atmospherics and wx conditions. I think overall the cablecard is a great way to go if they could all agree on a standard, that'll never happen.
